Since today is devoted to celebrating our pets—especially the furry ones—I am taking the opportunity to congratulate mine, and everyone else’s. Dogs make their parents’ lives infinitely more entertaining.

In the photograph, Yoko, of course, appears in a small painting by Danayce Gómez, completed in early January 2019 and given to me as a birthday present that year. The piece remains in Cuba, and I hope to recover it someday.

Yoko has certainly made my own life warmer, along with the lives of many others.
